Level Up Your Shopify Checkout with Stitch Express
We'll guide you through installing Stitch Express, optimising your checkout, and adding the Stitch BNPL widget to your product pages.
Find this in your Shopify Admin under Settings, below your store name
Before you start: Make sure you're logged into both your Shopify admin and your Stitch Express account in this browser.
Install Stitch Express Payment App
First, let's connect Stitch Express to your Shopify store and enable payments.
What to do

Log into your Stitch Express dashboard

Open the Connections page from the menu
Click "Connections" in the left sidebar

Click "Shopify"
A popup will appear: "Setting up Stitch Express on Shopify is a breeze"

Follow the prompts and click "Install Stitch Express"
Your store's Shopify Admin will now open

Click "Install" in Shopify
Stitch Express will request permission to be installed on your page

Click "Install" on the popup
Shopify will open up another Shopify install page. Your browser may block popups - check for a popup blocker notification

Finally, click "Activate"
This enables Stitch Express payments on your store.
Having trouble?
Check your browser's address bar for a popup blocker icon. Click it and allow popups from Stitch, then try again.
Shopify restricts Apple Pay and Google Pay logos on Shopify stores. Our next step will guide you on how to set up your store to show customers how to pay with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Great! Just click "Activate" if you haven't already, then proceed to Step 2.

Optimise Your Checkout & Add BNPL Widget
Customise how payment methods appear at checkout and add the Buy Now Pay Later widget to your product pages - all from one app.
Part A: Install the App & Customise Checkout

Click the button below to install the app
This will take you directly to the Stitch Express Checkout app page. This app is free to use for all Stitch Express merchants.

Click "Install" and approve
Review the permissions and click Install to add the app

Click "Create customisation"
After install, you'll see a "Create customisation" button - click it

Click "Add a customisation" and Save
Our recommended display name is already pre-filled. Check the preview, then click Save.

Part B: Add BNPL Widget to Product Pages

Scroll down and click "Add BNPL Widget to your store"
On the same app page, scroll to the "Interest-free payments" section and click the button. This automatically opens your Theme Editor with the widget ready to position.

Drag the widget under "Price" in the sidebar
You'll see "Stitch BNPL Widget" added in the left sidebar. Drag it below "Price" so customers see it near the product price.

Click Save (top right)
Done! Your product pages now show "Interest-free payments from R X" with the Stitch BNPL branding.
Having trouble?
Make sure Original Name has the exact name of the payment provider. In this case "Stitch Express".
Scroll down on the Stitch Express Checkout app page - it's in the "Interest-free payments, built into your store" section.
Check that: 1) You clicked Save in the Theme Editor, 2) The product price is above the minimum (default R100).
You'll need to add the widget to each product template separately. Use the dropdown at the top of the Theme Editor to switch between templates, or click "Add to Apps section instead" on the app page.

Congratulations! Setup Complete!
Stitch Express is now fully configured on your Shopify store. Your customers can now pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Capitec Pay, Card, and Buy Now Pay Later.
